Time and again, we've seen users abandon complicated tailored solutions in favour of simple spreadsheets they can control. Unfortunately traditional spreadsheet-based models typically run on a local machine so that the model inputs and outputs are only made available to a single user at a time. This set up has proven to be very successful for users in the business of product innovation and model development. However, it does raise serious limitations as soon as these functions need to be accessed by a wider user group who demand fast performance, consistent output and increased volumes.

Our premise is that the spreadsheet does not need to be replaced. Our users continue to access data through Excel. The difference is that calculations can be spread across multiple PCs, giving results much more quickly. The results are also stored centrally so they can be re-used by other users. This is particularly useful for sharing official curves or viewing effectiveness of hedges.
